The Paper Anniversary
3.14.16

A simple yet special DIY

What in the world do you give for a "paper" anniversary gift. I had to do a lot of exploring on Pinterest and Etsy to come up with something creative for My Love that I thought would be special enough to give him. We love to travel and check out new locations whenever our schedule premits...SO...I had a personalized map made that I found on Etsy!

This DIY project was so easy! I had the map personalized with our names and the saying "You Are My Greatest Adventure". The Etsy shop sent me a link to download the personalized map. I then uploaded it to a site called Poster Ninja. I chose to go with a 20 x 30 inch poster.

Next it was off to Michaels to get a foam cork board to mount the map to once it arrived in the mail.
Next was to find an affordable frame at Target to frame my map mounted to my foam cork board. You can find a nice frame at several different stores, I just chose to get mine at Target.

Now it was time to assemble. I had read about different types of glues to stick my map to the board. I decided that an Elmer's glue stick would be the most forgiving if I made any mistakes. This was so simple and didn't take long at all. I didn't use the plastic/glass cover that came with the frame. This is because I turned our map into a pushpin map to document all of the places that we have been to together!!! A box of ballhead pushpins and a great DIY Paper Anniversary gift was ready to be wraped!

Here is the finished product that I couldn't be happier about! And my husband absolutely loved it!
